Welcome to Class 3!
Class 3 is a class of 32 children across Years 3 and 4. We are so lucky at the moment to have 2 adults working in class with us this year. The class teacher is Miss Hodgson and our super LSAs are Mrs Moores and Mr Freeman. The children spend 2 years in Class 3 before moving into Class 4.
In Class 3, home learning will be sent home on Fridays and should be returned by the following Wednesday. Your child will write the title of their Home Learning in their green diaries each week and work will come home in their folders too. Please support your child to write a WWW/EBI comment in their diaries after they have completed the work.
Spelling and times table tests will take place on Fridays. A list of words and the times table focus for the half term can be found on the class noticeboard on the corridor and on Class 3’s page of the website.
Please ensure your child reads regularly. They may wish to read to you, with you, or independently.
Home Learning Diaries and Reading Records should be brought into school daily. Please place in the reading basket on my desk if there is anything immediate you wish to communicate. Please use them to monitor the home learning set and marked for your child. Your child will also bring home their Spelling/Times Table Books on Fridays so you can see how well they have done in tests. Please make sure children bring them back in on the following Monday.
In class 3 the children visit the school library on a Friday, so please return library books on that day to be changed.
Teacher’s PPA time takes place on Thursday afternoons.
If you or anyone you know has any interests, talents, skills or expertise that can help us enhance our learning in Class 3 this half term, please speak to Miss Hodgson. We are always looking to make links with the wider community.
Mrs Brown, an experienced journalist, came to visit Class 3 to talk about her experience of writing articles for various local and national newspapers. Pupils got the chance to ask her questions about her job. She also gave us plenty of top tips for writing stories.
